About The Position

The Events Manager will lead the strategic development, management, and implementation of fundraising and cultivation/stewardship events for PPMM’s c3 and c4 organizations. This role involves developing and meeting measurable event goals, creating and managing event budgets, and serving as a key member of event committees. The Events Manager will supervise Events Specialist and Event Associate positions, ensure adherence to affiliate policies, and manage event talent, honorees, and outside consultants. Collaboration with an Event Consultant for signature events is crucial, including leading signature event meetings. The role also includes creating and managing the departmental events calendar, reviewing and approving vendor contracts, ensuring timely insurance and payment of vendors, and collaborating with the Safety & Security Team for event safety. Additionally, the Events Manager will create individual and corporate sponsorship packages, track event payments, assist in volunteer recruitment and management, and oversee quality control for events data in the database. Non-essential duties include working with and supervising volunteers/interns and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform the duties described above.
  • BA/BS degree.
  • Minimum of five years fundraising experience in a non-profit setting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Outcome-driven, with the ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Knowledge of professional practices and theories of fundraising.
  • Supervisory and team building skills.
  • Ability to prepare budgets, plans and financial reports.
  • Extremely organized, precise, and detail-oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent decision-making, priority-setting and organizational skills.

  • Familiarity with fundraising software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage event talent, honorees, and outside consultants.
  • Collaborate with Event Consultant working on signature events to ensure clear division of evolving roles and responsibilities.
  • Lead signature event meetings in close collaboration with the Event Consultant.
  • Create and manage departmental events calendar.
  • Review and approve vendor contracts from business perspective.
  • Oversee Legal’s vendor contract approval process.
  • Ensure timely insurance and payment of vendors.
  • Ensure collaboration with the Safety & Security Team to ensure event safety.
  • Create individual and corporate sponsorship packages for events.
  • Track event payments in online system and liaise with finance to ensure timely payment.
  • Assist in the recruitment and management of events volunteers.
  • Assist with on-site production, set up and clean up for events as necessary.
  • Coordinates event gift entry and acknowledgments with Operations Manager and DevOps team.
  • Oversees quality control for events data in database.
