About The Position

This position assists the Event Services department in meeting the needs of on-campus event groups and their participants. The role involves providing assistance during facility usage, communicating with guests and staff, maintaining a clean and safe environment, answering phones, directing emails, and performing general administrative duties. The position requires 15-20 hours per week.

  • Have strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Able to be adaptable and maintain order in the midst of many activities
  • Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively, with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains discretion and handles sensitive information appropriately.
  • Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills. Able to promote Northwestern in a compelling and engaging manner.
  • Prompt, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting responsibilities.
  • Must pass background check as a condition of employment.
  • Able to work for any employer in the United States as we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance during a group’s use of the facility
  • Communicate with and help guests, staff, faculty, and/or students needing assistance
  • Provide a clean, safe environment
  • Answer phones and direct emails as needed
  • Assist in general administrative duties
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
