About The Position

Shootday is seeking event videographers in Chicago for paid freelance assignments. Shootday handles editing, project operations, logistics, and client communication, allowing videographers to focus on shooting. Assignments are paid per project, and videographers may accept or decline work based on their availability.

Requirements

• Be located in or able to commute to Chicago.
• Have legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Own and maintain videography gear, such as video stabilizers (gimbals) and high-quality microphones.
• Have proven experience in event videography and a strong portfolio.
• Have good communication skills and a professional attitude.
• Be able to work in different environments and event types.
• Have reliable transportation to event locations.
• Have strong technical skills with videography equipment.
• Be a team player who works well with others when needed.
• Have a videography degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Capture high-quality RAW video footage on time.
• Cover diverse events, including corporate functions, product launches, and social gatherings.
• Capture key moments, candid shots, and the atmosphere of each event.
• Adapt filming approaches to the needs of each event.
• Collaborate with other videographers when needed.
• Use professional camera equipment, including cameras, lenses, video stabilizers, and high-quality microphones.
• Guide participants and set up shots for the best results.
• Communicate effectively with clients and the Shootday team.
