About The Position

A Technician sets up and operates basic and small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring customer satisfaction. The position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director, Event Technology. Work is performed in a hotel or convention center and may involve multiple hotel locations, irregular hours, and on-call status. Team members must follow applicable appearance guidelines and complete required training and certifications.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
External applicants must meet, validate, and complete all required training and certifications within 60 days of starting.
Internal applicants must meet training and certification requirements determined by Encore’s Global Learning Training Program for their current and prospective positions.
A valid driver’s license is required for team members who may operate company vehicles.
Additional DOT requirements may apply.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, with reasonable accommodations as applicable.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree preferred.
One year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
One year of audiovisual experience or equivalent experience in an educational environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and break down basic audiovisual equipment accurately and on time to support successful events.
Provide service to internal and external customers, communicate effectively with clients, and maintain positive client relationships.
Meet with guests onsite to confirm their needs are met and equipment is working properly; monitor events and check in with customers throughout the day.
Understand and foster the hotel-client relationship.
Troubleshoot equipment and software issues, and handle technical challenges and changes promptly and professionally.
Follow company processes and procedures and complete systems entries and paperwork accurately.
Use equipment sheets to determine equipment required for setup and strike.
Coordinate with other staff and outside vendors regarding equipment.
Increase revenue using floor up-selling techniques.
Work with clients to finalize invoices and complete order entries in Navigator as needed.
Complete applicable training and certification requirements for the position.
Adhere to Encore appearance guidelines for the hotel or local area.
