About The Position

Groovin' Gourmets, the catering division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, is seeking an Event Server for the Hampton Roads region. This is a flexible, part-time position perfect for individuals seeking occasional shifts, potentially as a second job. The role involves assisting in all aspects of event setup and breakdown, serving guests with attention to detail, and becoming familiar with the catering menu to answer customer questions. The ideal candidate is energized by helping others celebrate, enjoys providing excellent customer service, is detail-oriented, and adheres to high standards of hygiene and food safety. This position offers variable opportunities based on the season and requires the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Requirements

• Customer service experience
• Able to follow directions and work independently
• Effective verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Previous banquet, catering, and/or restaurant wait staff experience preferred
• Knowledgeable about food and comfortable talking about preparation methods and ingredients

Responsibilities

• Arrive to scheduled events on time and dressed in proper uniform
• Assist in all aspects of set-up and break-down, including lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds
• Serve guests, with a dedication to taking care of the details to ensure that they have everything they need
• Become familiar with the catering menu and answer customer questions concerning food being served
• Maintain a courteous and well-mannered demeanor throughout the event
• Adhere to a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance
• Practice safe food handling procedures
• Be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
