About The Position

Groovin' Gourmets, the catering division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, is seeking an Event Server for the Hampton Roads region. This role offers flexible scheduling, making it ideal for individuals seeking supplemental income or a second job with occasional shifts. As a catering company, the number of available event shifts can vary depending on the season. We specialize in delivering fresh, chef-crafted meals and seamless service for a variety of events, and we pride ourselves on fostering a supportive and positive workplace where employee contributions are valued.

Requirements

  • Customer service experience
  • Able to follow directions and work independently
  • Effective verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous banquet, catering, and/or restaurant wait staff experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Arrive to scheduled events on time and dressed in proper uniform
  • Assist in all aspects of set-up and break-down, including lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds
  • Serve guests, taking care of details to ensure they have everything they need
  • Become familiar with the catering menu and answer customer questions concerning food being served
  • Maintain a courteous and well-mannered demeanor throughout the event
  • Adhere to a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance
  • Practice safe food handling procedures
  • Be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
