About The Position

Mission Bit is seeking a creative Freelance Event Photographer to capture brand photography for social media, marketing materials, and other company communications. The ideal candidate will view event parameters as a creative palette and be eager to add 8-10 events to their calendar annually. Events are primarily in the Bay Area, mostly in San Francisco, and can include field trips, student showcases, and gala fundraisers.

Requirements

1-3 years of experience as an event photographer
Some knowledge of photo editing software
Afternoon, evening, and weekend availability, as events may occur after business hours, on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays
Reliable transportation for events throughout the Bay Area
Ability to be on your feet for 1-5 hours
Ability to maintain an accurate availability calendar up to 6 months out

Responsibilities

Photograph event highlights, guest interactions, speakers, and candid atmosphere in various indoor settings, typically for 1 to 5 hours per event.
Maintain the quality and creativity of work.
Exhibit an easygoing and affable demeanor around guests, partners, and students.
Follow the event shot list and align with the schedule.
Ensure all notes and schedules are received and thoroughly reviewed ahead of time for assigned shoots.
Back up and upload edited images to Mission Bit's Google Photos folder promptly, adhering to deadlines and organizational needs.
Recognize the importance and sensitivity of the data.
