About The Position

Planned is the AI Event Intelligence Platform. Enterprises use Planned to source, manage, and pay for their meetings and events, with AI doing the work that used to take entire teams and agencies. We're on a mission to disrupt a $500+ billion industry. To achieve that, we want to work with brilliant minds and natural leaders who are driven to out-think, out-plan, and outperform the competition. We tackle every business decision with enthusiasm, and we love the work that we do! As our next Senior Event Manager, you'll own the end-to-end delivery of complex corporate events for our largest enterprise clients (some of the most recognizable global logos). This is a role for someone who has already run corporate events at scale and can operate with minimal oversight. You'll set the standard for how events are delivered at Planned, and your judgment will shape how our clients experience the platform.

Requirements

  • 5+ years managing corporate or enterprise events end to end, ideally including programs of 100+ attendees and budgets in the six figures
  • Demonstrated venue and vendor negotiation experience - you've reviewed contracts, pushed back on terms, and know where the leverage is
  • Sound commercial judgment: you weigh client experience against budget and margin, and you can explain the tradeoff
  • Organized under a heavy load - you can manage a high volume of complex events without dropping details, and you thrive in fast-paced environments
  • Comfortable operating in a tech-forward environment and adopting new tools quickly - you're already using AI to remove the manual work from your day-to-day
  • Ability to cover our west coast hours (~12pm-8pm) in order to serve our biggest SF-based client

Responsibilities

  • Own a high volume of client events from intake through post-event reconciliation, serving as a senior industry expert
  • Translate ambiguous or incomplete briefs into clear scopes, realistic budgets, and defensible venue and vendor recommendations
  • Source and negotiate with venues and suppliers - room blocks, F&B minimums, attrition and cancellation clauses, AV, and BEOs - protecting both client budget and Planned's margin
  • Anticipate and resolve risk before it reaches the client: supplier fall-through, date changes, headcount swings, permitting and compliance issues
  • Serve as the bridge between client experience and product - surface friction patterns to Product and Engineering, and help improve the playbooks and templates the wider team runs on

Benefits

  • Unlimited PTO
  • Competitive base pay
  • All the tools and gear you need to be successful (Macbook, screens, mouse, keyboard, ChatGPT, etc.)
  • Health, dental, vision insurance
  • Bus pass subsidy or indoor parking
  • Stocked up snacks & lunches in office 2x per week
  • Dog-friendly office
  • Relocation support, if needed
