About The Position

Floor & Decor is seeking a Manager, Marketing Copy to join our Copy team and help bring our brand voice to life across every customer touchpoint. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Content & Copy, this person will write and oversee a wide range of assets — including long- and short-form video scripts, digital advertising, in-store signage, web landing pages, OOH, direct mail, email, SMS, catalogs, and blogs — while serving as a subject matter expert on Floor & Decor's tone and voice. This role is a true creative partner to Content & Social Strategy, Design, Brand Marketing, and Pro Marketing teams, working collaboratively to continuously evolve and optimize our voice across channels. This person will also bring copywriting expertise to our loyalty program, crafting communications that drive enrollment, engagement, and retention. The ideal candidate balances strong writing craft with strategic thinking, sound judgment, and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and knows how to strategically incorporate AI tools into their workflow to work smarter without sacrificing quality or voice.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, journalism, English, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5 to 8 years of experience in content creation/copywriting on an in-house creative team or agency
• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills, with a portfolio demonstrating range across formats
• Demonstrated ability to write engaging, strategic, conversion-driven copy across a range of channels, including long- and short-form video scripts, digital advertising, in-store signage, web landing pages, OOH, direct mail, email, SMS, catalogs, and blogs
• Knowledge of social and digital advertising best practices and tactics, including Meta, Pinterest, streaming/CTV, and other emerging platforms
• Demonstrated ability to interpret business needs and recommend content solutions, collaborating closely with Content Strategy, designers, Brand Marketing, and Pro Marketing
• Understanding of crafting messages for target audiences (including B2C and B2B) and marketing funnel stage to drive engagement, consideration and conversion
• Comfortable adapting to new technology, including AI writing and ideation tools, and using them strategically to boost efficiency and creative output
• Ability to concisely and comfortably present and discuss content ideas in group settings, including to executive-level stakeholders
• Comfortable managing several projects concurrently and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Nice To Haves

• Experience writing for a loyalty or rewards program strongly preferred
• Retail experience strongly preferred
• Experience in scriptwriting for short- and long-form video a plus
• Understanding of SEO best practices and ecommerce website UX a plus
• Experience developing, mentoring, or providing feedback to junior team members and peers a plus

Responsibilities

• Write and edit a wide variety of marketing copy, including long- and short-form video scripts, digital advertising, in-store signage, desktop/mobile web landing pages, OOH, direct mail, email, SMS, catalogs, and lookbooks
• Serve as the subject matter expert on Floor & Decor's brand voice and tone, championing it and interpreting it for everyday projects and diverse audiences
• Act as a true creative partner to Content Strategy, Design, Brand Marketing, and Pro Marketing teams, collaborating to set and execute copy strategy and continuously optimize our voice and tone
• Own copywriting for the loyalty program, crafting messaging that drives enrollment, engagement, and retention
• Partner with the Content Strategy team on omnichannel copy strategy grounded in the customer journey and channel-specific best practices
• Maintain rigorous attention to detail on all self- and team-generated copy, proofing for accuracy, consistency, spelling, grammar, and style
• Present copy concepts and rationale in cross-functional meetings, providing live feedback and recommendations as the copywriting expert
• Identify customer needs and gaps in existing content, recommending new topics and approaches in collaborative planning sessions
• Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and customer insights to inform and inspire copy
• Strategically leverage AI tools to speed up ideation, drafting, and research while maintaining brand voice integrity and quality standards
• Maintain a continuous improvement mindset, revising content based on performance, feedback, and evolving brand needs
• Be a self-starter, completing writing projects on deadline and in line with style and project specifications
• Mentor and provide guidance to peers through collaboration and coaching
