About The Position

Goodera is seeking a freelance Emcee to lead corporate volunteering events in Houston, Texas. The role involves facilitating accessible, engaging, and impactful experiences for corporate employees, representing Goodera, and helping clients and volunteers have a seamless event from setup through post-event wrap-up. Hosts also connect with nonprofits and beneficiaries to deepen the impact of each experience. Events may require sustaining an engaging presence for approximately 2–4 hours. The role offers event-based work, an event fee of $200 per event plus travel reimbursement, and the flexibility to build a schedule and choose which events to host.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with volunteers.
• Proficiency in public speaking and the ability to engage and captivate an audience.
• Fluency in English.
• Strong passion for social impact initiatives and interest in understanding the cause and impact of volunteering activities.
• Ability to adapt and respond swiftly to changing situations during events.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Self-driven, proactive, and able to work as a team player.
• Strong creative skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly under pressure and engage groups ranging from 5 to 100 people.
• Ability to sustain genuine enthusiasm and help participants feel at ease for approximately 2–4 hours.
• Ability to facilitate confidently, manage group dynamics, and adapt to technology failures or changing plans.

Responsibilities

• Host and manage volunteering events tailored for corporate teams.

• Ensure a seamless start-to-finish event experience.
• Lead the event journey, including setting up materials, hosting, and completing post-event wrap-up.
• Capture event moments and help create memorable experiences for volunteers.
• Handle setup and logistics, including checking materials, giving volunteer instructions, and planning for contingencies.
• Connect with nonprofits and beneficiaries after events to close the loop and deepen the impact.
• Demonstrate passion for social impact and understand the causes and effects of volunteering activities.
