About The Position

The Countryside YMCA is looking for an enthusiastic, service-minded individual to join our Special Events team at the Ralph J. Stolle Countryside YMCA and Little Miami Learning Center. In this role, you'll be the on-site point of contact for birthday parties, private rentals, and after-hours lock-in events — making sure guests feel welcomed, safe, and well taken care of from setup to cleanup. This is a part-time, weekend-focused position requiring availability for a minimum of two events (or five hours) per month, with occasional Friday and evening shifts.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Hold a high school diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience in customer service is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) and First Aid certification is required (or complete training at the next available session after hire).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to stay composed and professional when situations don't go as planned.
  • Comfortable with light to moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 25 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Complete all new hire training prior to working independently.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is essential.
  • Complete child protection training.
  • Follow behavioral guidelines.
  • Report any suspicious or inappropriate conduct immediately.

  • Familiarity with the Countryside YMCA's facilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive before guests to prepare the event space and ensure everything is in order.
  • Welcome families and groups at the door, collect signed waivers, and walk clients through the event plan.
  • Anticipate needs, coordinate transitions between activities, and keep things running smoothly during the event.
  • Manage food logistics, guide the group through breakdown, and restore the space and equipment to proper order.
  • Know and follow all emergency protocols and the facility's Emergency Action Plan.
  • Report any safety concerns to the director without delay.
  • Work no more than one to two lock-in events per year.
