About The Position

We are looking for an Event Director to lead the launch of Bett USA — from building the go-to-market plan to shaping a high-performing team and delivering a best-in-class event. In the initial phase, you’ll work closely with the Head of the Incubator, focusing on content, marketing, product and community while learning the commercial framework for a successful launch event. As the event matures, you’ll progressively take on greater commercial accountability, including sales, partnerships and P&L ownership, moving towards full leadership of the Bett USA portfolio. The ideal candidate is customer-centric, thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments, and has experience launching new events at scale and/or a deep understanding of the EdTech ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Hungry & accountable – take ownership and see things through.
  • Entrepreneurial & brave – willing to take risks, try new paths, adapt.
  • Fast learner & adaptable– thrive under ambiguity and speed.
  • Commercial thinker & problem solver – not just ideas but execution.
  • Collaborative & communicative – works well across functions, influencing others.
  • No ego – focus on our customers and business/event needs over your own.
  • A good understanding of the EdTech ecosystem including key players, key companies, trends and themes (if no experience here, we expect an ambitious plan on how you would teach yourself this)
  • A minimum of 3 years’ leading others
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in complex project management/delivery
  • Experience owning and exceeding commercial targets (revenue and profit)
  • Ideally, experience in launching new product (ideally conferences) at pace in a global market and with scale.
  • Keen to learn and embrace every opportunity in a fast-paced environment.

  • Gradually assume full responsibility for the event P&L, including accurate forecasting, cost management, and budget optimisation.
