The Event Director will be responsible for the ownership, planning, and management of events, which can be either in-person or virtual. This role involves preparing detailed budgets, gathering price quotes, selecting vendors, negotiating contracts, and developing detailed timelines. The Event Director will also determine and communicate staff and client responsibilities, and is responsible for managing the event day itself. In partnership with the market publisher, they will select and schedule speakers, presentation, and sponsor program participants, and script sponsor presentations and the main program. Ticket sales management through online registration and oversight of attendance lists are also key responsibilities. The role requires developing relationships with outside vendors and utilizing vendor trades to produce high-quality events with minimal cash outlay, while tracking trade schedules for contract completion. Pre and post-event promotions through various channels are necessary, along with proofreading promotional material to maintain brand integrity. A post-event analysis, including invoicing approval and expense summaries, is also required. Additionally, the Event Director will organize sponsor meetings, gather sponsor information, ensure sponsor deliverables are met, assist the advertising team, and provide creative recommendations for sponsors and on-site activations. This position includes supervisory responsibilities for an Event Coordinator and day-of event staff. As a member of the management team, the position requires being in the office four days a week, with one remote work day. Professional development is encouraged through applicable training and at least one external training opportunity annually. All team members are expected to assist with other tasks as requested by the Publisher.
