About The Position

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, Capitol Campus Event Management & Scheduling, the Event Coordinator plans and executes various mid- and high-level events in support of the University’s mission, and provides assistance to other staff members in the OEM for larger, more complex events happening both on the Capitol Campus and at locations off site. The event coordinator creates and manages event budgets, produces timelines, and works with the event sponsors on all aspects of the program. The event coordinator also manages and assists on an array of events including conferences, symposia, faculty events, Capitol Campus events, Law Reunion and Commencement and a wide variety of receptions, dinners and special events.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in the event planning field.
  • Ability to work without close supervision.
  • Must be able to interface with the public.
  • Must maintain highly confidential information with professional discretion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • An undergraduate degree in marketing, public relations, communications or a related field.
  • Familiarity with working in an academic or non-profit environment.
  • Familiarity with EMS, Social Tables, and Cvent.
