About The Position

The Evening Custodian maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment for students, staff, and visitors at South County Middle School. The role involves maintaining campus cleanliness, completing routine custodial and sanitation duties, supporting school events, following safety procedures, reporting concerns, and interacting professionally with the school community. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, at $17.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Reliable and dependable, with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and stay motivated throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to lift, move, and handle custodial equipment and materials.
• Complete a fingerprint background check, Family Care Safety Registry check, and TB test before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities experience.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment, techniques, and supplies.
• High school diploma or GED; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Perform routine custodial and sanitation duties throughout the campus.
• Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for school events and activities.
• Safely operate custodial equipment and use cleaning products according to established procedures.
• Follow safety guidelines and help maintain a secure environment for students and staff.
• Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns as needed.
• Work independently while managing daily responsibilities efficiently.
• Interact in a friendly and professional manner with staff, students, and visitors.
