About The Position

Greenstone is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager with a background in renewable fuels and specifically the ethanol industry to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in the ethanol sector or a consultant delivering services to ethanol producers. The successful candidate will work closely with sales in a technical sales role and support existing customers in a customer success capacity. As Greenstone continues to grow, they are looking for a passionate and industry-savvy Solutions Consultant to bridge the gap between their ethanol customers and their internal product, sales, and services teams. Greenstone delivers innovative, mission-critical solutions to North American agribusinesses, holding a commanding share in the U.S. grain origination software market, serving over 400 customers and 5,000+ ERP users throughout North America. Their products have been in the marketplace for over 30 years, providing stability, consistency, and innovation. This position plays a critical cross-functional role that combines deep renewable fuels industry expertise with technical acumen to drive value for customers and the product roadmap. This role sits at the intersection of technical sales, customer success, and product development. The individual will be the trusted advisor and voice of the customer for renewable fuels industry clients, contributing to sales efforts, delivering high-value support and professional services, and influencing the development of features that solve real-world customer challenges. This position offers the opportunity to work with customers and prospects within ethanol and renewable fuels production with an emphasis on grain procurement, sustainability, and tax credits and rewards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the renewable fuels industry, either directly within an ethanol producer organization or in a consultative, technology, or service role supporting ethanol producers.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally between sales, customer-facing teams, and product development.
  • Strong business analysis skills, including requirements gathering, workflow mapping, and stakeholder communication.
  • Comfortable presenting to executives and technical audiences alike.
  • Willingness to travel for on-site engagements (approx. 20–30%).

  • Experience working in or with software companies serving industrial or manufacturing sectors.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives in process industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in customer onboarding, training, and adoption efforts (40% Customer Success).

  • Act as the subject matter expert during sales cycles for renewable fuels producers (40% Technical Sales).
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to tailor product demos and presentations to industry-specific use cases (40% Technical Sales).
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions for prospective ethanol clients (40% Technical Sales).
  • Provide input on RFPs, proposals, and other sales-related documentation (40% Technical Sales).
  • Serve as the internal voice of the customer for the product and engineering teams (20% Product Ownership & Renewable Fuels Industry Advocacy).
  • Gather, document, and prioritize feature requests and business requirements specific to ethanol production workflows (20% Product Ownership & Renewable Fuels Industry Advocacy).
  • Work with Product Managers and Engineers to ensure delivery of high-impact solutions tailored to ethanol producers (20% Product Ownership & Renewable Fuels Industry Advocacy).
