About The Position

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new revenue growth within an assigned geographic territory by identifying, prospecting, and securing new business opportunities. This role focuses on building strong client relationships, developing strategic sales plans, and expanding market presence through consultative, solution-based selling. The ideal candidate is a results-driven sales professional with experience in outside sales, business development, or account management who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-oriented environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of proven outside sales or business development experience
  • Strong background in cold calling, prospecting, and closing new business
  • Experience in consultative, solution-based selling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, competitive, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally within assigned territory
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and accountability

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans for new, active, and inactive accounts
  • Identify and prospect new business opportunities within assigned territory
  • Maintain and grow a minimum of 30 target accounts
  • Conduct cold calls, in-person sales visits, presentations, and client meetings
  • Prepare proposals, pricing strategies, and workforce solution presentations
  • Analyze client needs and recommend tailored staffing solutions
  • Drive full-cycle sales from prospecting through closing
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
  • Conduct regular sales calls and follow-up activities with prospects and clients
  • Partner with branch leadership and operations teams to ensure successful service delivery
  • Respond quickly to client inquiries and staffing needs
  • Support client retention and account expansion initiatives
  • Represent Surge Staffing at networking events and community business functions
  • Increase brand awareness and develop new business opportunities
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity within assigned territory
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity in CRM systems
  • Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen sales strategies and execution
