About The Position

This position is for Extended School Year (ESY) Paraeducators in a Sub Separate program for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves teaching children with various disabilities to help them gain skills in academics, socialization, and communication, with the ultimate goal of building independence. All recommended therapies will be provided during this time. Paraeducators are responsible for implementing programming for students who receive most of their academic instruction in a substantially separate setting. The number of Paraeducators needed will depend on student enrollment.

Requirements

• Must select the program area for which they are applying (Elementary or Middle/High School).
• Preference will be given to applicants who have worked with students with mild to moderate special needs.

Responsibilities

• Implement programming for students in substantially separate settings.
• Prepare materials, record data, engage in professional development, and consult with teachers and related service providers during prep time.
• Adhere to the adopted policies and procedures of the Bellingham School Committee.
