About The Position

Bellingham Public Schools is seeking Day-to-Day Substitutes for the Extended School Year (ESY) program for the 2026-2027 school year. These positions are funded contingent on Town Meeting approval and are anticipated to begin on May 27, 2026. Hired on an as-needed basis, substitutes will be assigned based on student enrollment and needs. The program runs from July 6, 2026, through August 6, 2026, Monday through Thursday. Elementary school hours are 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at DiPietro Elementary (Grades PK-3), and secondary school hours are 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Bellingham Memorial School (Grades 4-12+).

Requirements

• Experience teaching or assisting students in the requested grade level.
• Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Certification is preferred.
• Preference will be given to applicants teaching students with mild to moderate special needs or severe disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Day-to-Day Substitute Teacher for the ESY program.
• Serve as a Day-to-Day Substitute Sub Separate Teacher for the ESY program.
• Serve as a Day-to-Day Substitute Vocational Teacher for the ESY program.
• Serve as a Day-to-Day Substitute Paraeducator for the ESY program.
• Assignments vary based on need.
