About The Position

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks a passionate physical education teacher for its elementary grade levels (Kindergarten through Fourth Grade). The P.E./Health teacher will lead daily P.E. instruction, supplementing other core academic areas. This is a full-time position within the existing specials department, working with students across multiple grade levels. Responsibilities include creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with the team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned by the School Leader. The specials schedule may vary by school, and teachers may travel to classrooms or have students transition to their space. Class sizes are typically around 26 students, with teachers seeing a class approximately once per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Equivalent (K-12 Physical Education/Health).
  • At least one year of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom.

  • Passing a background check, as required by law.
  • Background screening through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse in accordance with Florida House Bill 531.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree.
  • Two or more years of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom.
  • Two or more years of K-8 teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom.

Responsibilities
