About The Position

The Estimator participates in all aspects of the bid/estimating process from review of plans and specifications to soliciting and negotiating prices from contractors/suppliers through completion of bid/estimating effort including closeout.

Requirements

  • Minimum Experience: 2 - 5 years
  • Degree Required: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or similar experience.
  • Thorough understanding of the company’s policies, procedures, systems, and objectives.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem solving, presentation and leadership skills.
  • Attends industry events and represents LEED in a professional capacity.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with external clients.
  • Proficient in using a computer, Accubid and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with strong customer focus.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Candidate must be self-driven with the ability to work as part of a team or independent.
  • Strong work ethic and core values.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quantity take-off and pricing of electrical estimates
  • Develop and document logical assumptions during conceptual estimating activities and applies these assumptions to take-off tasks.
  • Communicate with architects and consultants to clarify and document discussions regarding intent and scope of work, material, and schedule requirements.
  • Actively participates in the internal estimate review process.
  • Analyzes and scopes trades partner electrical proposals.
  • After the bid, collects and organizes all bid information for input into historical cost database platform.
  • Assist field with change order pricing.
  • Maintain working knowledge of MEP codes and changes to codes.
  • Prepare scope of work for subcontracts.
  • Prepare budget comparisons between current and previous estimates.
  • Utilizes current technology to enhance provided services on both hard bid and negotiated projects.
  • Actively schedules and meets with trade partners during the face-to-face scope meeting process.
