Requirements

  • Exceptional oral and written communication abilities for clearly presenting project information to team members and stakeholders.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Capability to read and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans.
  • Willingness to be part of a team and support team members.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to quickly identify and solve problems as they arise.
  • Stamina to climb ladders, maintain balance, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 3-7 years of estimating experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of GLC Safety Program.
  • Ability to communicate and clearly present project information to other team members.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Extremely detail oriented.
  • Ability to read understand and execute blueprints drawings and plans.
  • Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them.
  • Workers must be able to: see well (either naturally or with correction); coordinate the movements of eyes hands and fingers; use hands, arms and fingers fully; climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or work at heights as required; and list and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with software tools such as Procore, Excel, and Word is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with customers while demonstrating strong leadership and client service skills.
  • Facilitate collaboration among team members and communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure the estimating process runs smoothly and exceeds client expectations.
  • Engage in pre-bid meetings and contribute to bid strategy discussions.
  • Review proposal specifications and determine the scope of work.
  • Help grow our subcontractor base and pursue high-quality projects.
  • Incorporate historical data into estimates and prepare complete takeoffs to provide invaluable input on complex projects.
  • Perform quality control of bids and maintain subcontractor bid lists.
  • Document estimates thoroughly using estimating systems, fostering a cohesive team effort towards achieving departmental goals while consistently enhancing client satisfaction.
