About The Position

The Estimator determines approximate vehicle-damage repair costs and timelines, negotiates insurance payments, and communicates costs and repair information to customers. The role includes inspecting damaged vehicles, estimating labor and parts, preparing insurance forms, drafting work orders, entering them into systems, and maintaining repair records. Requirements

• At least 3–5 years of experience in the collision repair field.
• Solid working knowledge of processes, techniques, and materials used in automotive equipment repair.
• Extensive knowledge of vehicle structure and the removal and replacement of damaged components such as doors, windscreens, and fenders.
• Demonstrated knowledge of safety precautions required for the work.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to lift an average of 35 pounds and occasionally more than 70 pounds.
• Agility, equilibrium, and coordination for climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing under precarious conditions.
• Strong arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the physical capacity to reach, handle, finger, and feel.
• Strong negotiation skills and commitment to customer service.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicle areas that appear damaged and determine whether they require repair, replacement, or repainting.
• Assess vehicle damage through inspections.
• Estimate the labor and parts costs required to repair vehicle damage.
• Prepare insurance forms showing repair cost estimates.
• Negotiate insurance payments.
• Explain vehicle damage and costs professionally to customers and answer questions about the vehicle, costs, and insurance.
• Draft work orders listing required repairs and enter them into company systems.
• Maintain records of repairs in company files.
