Our Client may require the services of an Estimator to support the Transmission Program Management team. This role involves developing conceptual, preliminary, and detailed cost estimates for various transmission projects, including overhead and underground lines, substations, and asset replacement or upgrade programs. The Estimator will review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and scopes of work, perform quantity take-offs, and determine labor, equipment, and material requirements. They will apply standardized estimating methodologies and historical cost data, identify assumptions, cost drivers, risks, and uncertainties, and develop escalation and contingency allowances. Collaboration with Engineering and Construction teams to assess constructability and execution strategies is key. The role also supports capital budget development, business case preparation, and AUC filings, as well as reviewing contractor estimates and tender submissions. Maintaining estimating databases, cost models, and documentation, including Basis of Estimate, is essential. Participation in post-project reviews to enhance estimating accuracy and processes is also expected.
