About The Position
The Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed material takeoffs and cost estimates for industrial, electrical, and manufacturing projects. This role requires the ability to interpret complex 2D/3D drawings, analyze specifications, and collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure accurate project pricing and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering , or related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical construction, switchgear, or industrial estimating .
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret 2D/3D CAD drawings, specifications, and RFQs.
- Develop accurate material takeoffs and cost estimates for electrical and mechanical systems.
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing, lead times, and technical data.
- Coordinate with Sales, Finance, and Operations to align on scope, budgets, and schedules.
- Support bid proposals, cost analysis, and value-engineering initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Maintain cost databases and assist in process improvements related to estimating accuracy and efficiency.
