About The Position
Great Place Construction, a private construction firm specializing in commercial construction, is seeking an Estimator to join its pre-construction team. The Estimator calculates, compiles, and prepares project estimates and supports the team in delivering successful project outcomes. The role is based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and offers a hybrid work environment.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A bachelor's degree or progress toward a bachelor's degree in construction or engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of related experience.
- Familiarity with commercial estimating techniques and software, such as On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, and ISqFT.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Responsibilities
- Generate project estimates.
- Complete quantity takeoffs.
- Solicit specialty contractors to obtain estimates.
- Maintain the specialty contractor database to ensure information is current and new potential bidders are included.
- Assist in preparing request for proposal documents.
- Support the management team in maintaining and updating estimating software and databases.
- Coordinate bid document sharing with all process stakeholders.
- Actively contribute to personal and team development.
- Do whatever is necessary to help deliver a successful outcome.
