About The Position

We're looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Waterworks Estimator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong relationships with customers, branch teams, and vendor partners. In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting successful project bids by preparing accurate material estimates, recommending the right products and solutions, and delivering exceptional customer service. What a Waterworks Estimator role at ICONIX looks like: Review bid requests received from branch offices to determine the materials required for each project. Prepare accurate and comprehensive Bills of Material to support customer bids and provide recommendations. Collaborate with branch personnel, customers, and project stakeholders to clarify project specifications, product requirements, and expectations. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers in person and over the phone, answering product inquiries, and recommending appropriate waterworks solutions. Liaise with vendors to obtain pricing, confirm product suitability, and determine product availability and lead times to support accurate and competitive estimates. Maintain current knowledge of waterworks products, industry standards, and supplier offerings to ensure estimates reflect the best available solutions. Support branch sales and operations teams by providing timely, accurate estimates that contribute to successful project outcomes and customer satisfaction. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, branch teams, and supplier partners while delivering responsive, professional service throughout the estimating process. As a subject matter expert, you'll provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to branch teams, helping resolve complex customer needs and ensuring accurate, timely solutions. A consultative approach, commitment to exceptional customer service, and the ability to build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and colleagues are essential. Experience in the waterworks industry or a related field such as utilities, industrial distribution, underground infrastructure, or construction supply is preferred. A solid understanding of waterworks products, estimating principles, and industry applications will enable you to support project success and make a meaningful impact in the communities we serve. To be successful in this role, you should have: A high school diploma or equivalent. Two or more years of experience in the waterworks industry or construction environment. The ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications. Working knowledge of waterworks products, materials, and their applications. Experience using Microsoft Office and computerized inventory or estimating systems. A proactive mindset with the confidence to research unfamiliar requirements and identify the right solution.
