About The Position

Estimator / PM is responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, ensuring all project data is available and researched in order to successfully bid and win projects. The role requires maintaining professional and technical knowledge, preparing bid submission budgets, and understanding project requirements. The individual will also be responsible for client interactions, evaluating projects for company fit, and securing better pricing from vendors.

Requirements

• Experience soliciting vendor quotes in an architectural or construction environment with strong knowledge of woodworking industry.
• Secondary education degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Change Orders; creating schedules utilizing state-of-the-art software a plus.
• Experience in using estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Prepares bid submission budget by studying plans; understanding all specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each element of bid.
• Properly turns over bid documents and other documentation to Project Management in a timely manner.
• Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements, and setting priorities.
• Knows architects, general contractors and other potential clients and can close business.
• Handles all client interactions in a manner designed to build a long-term relationship.
• Conducts an initial evaluation of projects to determine best fit the company.
• Shows creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing from vendors.
