Estimator - Commercial Drywall & Metal Framing
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Drywall Estimator to join our growing team in Austin, TX. This role is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates for commercial interior construction projects, including drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and commercial flooring. The ideal candidate has strong experience reviewing construction documents, performing detailed quantity takeoffs, coordinating vendor and subcontractor pricing, and developing comprehensive bid proposals. Requirements
- 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, or related interior construction trades.
- High school diploma or GED required; degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and building systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience performing accurate quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
- Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Commercial interior construction estimating experience is required.

Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceiling, and flooring projects.
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents to define project scope and identify requirements.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
- Solicit, evaluate, and compare pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, project risks, and value engineering opportunities.
- Prepare complete bid proposals and supporting documentation for client submission.
- Collaborate with project managers, field teams, vendors, and clients throughout the estimating process.
- Maintain organized estimating files, bid records, and project documentation.
- Support project turnover by providing detailed estimate breakdowns and scope clarifications to operations teams.
