About The Position

Innovative Design Build is seeking an Estimating Assistant to join their Estimating Team. This role is for a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks and is comfortable communicating with vendors and subcontractors. The Estimating Assistant will support the Estimator throughout the bidding process, from initial pricing to project turnover, ensuring accuracy and smooth project execution.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Reliable Transportation
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy, noticing small errors and inconsistencies.
Good with numbers and calculations.
Ability to use and create formulas in Google Sheets.
Persistence: Comfortable following up repeatedly and asking direct questions.
Bilingual: Fluent enough in Spanish for clear communication with subcontractors and field personnel.
Organization: Able to juggle multiple open items, deadlines, and follow-ups.
Sense of Urgency: Moves quickly and takes ownership of tasks.
Communication: Clear, confident, direct, professional, and easy to work with.
Team Orientation: Comfortable in a support role.
Coachability: Open to feedback and willing to adjust and improve.

Responsibilities

Prepare square footage takeoff sheets and material quantity estimates for ballpark pricing.
Research and contact vendors for ballpark pricing.
Complete quantity takeoffs from construction plans across various trades (plumbing, electrical, hardwoods, tile, countertops, glass, etc.).
Prepare and organize bid day packets, send trade invitations and reminders, and coordinate trade walk-throughs.
Escort subcontractors through projects and answer basic questions about plans and scope.
Build and manage Buildertrend bid packages, enter bids, create purchase orders, and follow up with trades on deposits and invoicing.
Enter final estimates into Buildertrend and QuickBooks upon contract signing and create milestone invoices for clients.
Support trade and vendor relations, including scheduling annual meetings, new partner interviews, and onboarding.
Attend trade walk-throughs and occasional offsite meetings with vendors and subcontractors.
