About The Position

Hotel Ivy is a luxury boutique hotel in downtown Minneapolis with 136 guestrooms, event spaces, onsite restaurants and bars, and Anda Spa and Fitness. The Esthetician performs esthetic services, including facials and waxing, for spa guests and members. The role also involves documenting guest medical histories, services, skin analyses, and product recommendations in the spa computer system. The position requires weekend availability.

Requirements

Current state cosmetology or Esthetician’s license.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years of experience in esthetics.
In-depth knowledge of current esthetic industry techniques, equipment, services, and products.
Willingness to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality regarding guests and staff.
Customer-service orientation and ability to communicate effectively with clients, clinic management, fellow therapists, and sales staff.
Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, and push carts up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Good dexterity in fingers, wrists, and hands, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to stand and move throughout the spa and continuously perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.

Responsibilities

Greet guests and members in a professional, friendly manner.
Review each client’s intake form and select appropriate spa treatments based on the client’s needs.
Perform spa treatments within the scope of training and follow draping protocols.
Complete accurate and legible client intake notes.
Create a positive guest experience through therapeutic touch and a friendly attitude.
Promote the health and wellness benefits of spa treatments and recommend service frequency for each client.
Safeguard client information and maintain confidentiality.
Maintain professional boundaries and avoid dual relationships with clients.
Maintain a clean, professional appearance and keep the clinic and therapy room clean, including following uniform, table-dressing, and draping protocols.
Follow attendance rules and be available to work regularly, including weekends.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
