Brock University is seeking an ESL Instructor for the IELP Core program. This position is part of the CUPE4207-3 Employee Group and involves teaching assigned courses, preparing course materials, marking student work, and participating in departmental meetings and events. Requirements

• Bachelor degree
• TESL Certificate with a supervised practicum
• Master’s level qualifications in related areas – e.g. Applied Linguistics, English, Languages – shall also be taken into account
• post-secondary teaching experience, especially in ESL/EFL, and particularly overseas, is very desirable.

Responsibilities

• Teaching all courses as assigned in the scheduled period of instruction.
• Preparing course syllabus and lesson plans, ensuring alignment with course and program learning outcomes.
• Marking and evaluation of in-class work and record keeping.
• Attending pre-sessional instructor orientation sessions, as well as post session grade review meeting.
• Communicating effectively and professionally with colleagues and staff.
• Attending departmental meetings.
• Participating in events such as closing ceremonies and orientation.
• Contributing to a positive work environment.
