This position involves planning and implementing a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, diverse backgrounds, and abilities of students. The role includes assisting in establishing curriculum objectives, creating a conducive learning environment, and guiding the learning process towards curriculum goals. The teacher will employ appropriate instructional methods, assess student accomplishments, diagnose learning strengths and weaknesses, and work cooperatively with colleagues, students, and parents. The position also requires assisting administration in implementing policies, planning assignments for support personnel, and using technology in teaching. Maintaining accurate records, performing Medicaid administrative claims reimbursable activities, adhering to the Code of Ethics, supporting school improvement initiatives, and recognizing/acting on indicators of student distress or abuse are also key responsibilities. An appropriate testing environment and test security must be established.
