About The Position

This role involves supporting students with emotional and behavioral needs within an educational setting. The ESE Assistant will work with students requiring specialized behavioral health support, ensuring their safety and well-being. Specific training in areas like Safe Crisis Management, First Aid, CPR, and Medication Administration is required and provided by the District. For General Health Assistants, the ability to lift 35 pounds is necessary. If student transportation is part of the duties, a valid Florida Driver's License and a safe driving record are mandatory.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
For Title One Schools ONLY: Associate's degree OR Sixty (60) credits minimum OR Passing score (464) on the Praxis Paraprofessional test.
Must complete Safe Crisis Management (SCM) training within 6 months of employment for Behavioral Health Assistants.
Must complete First Aid, CPR, and Medication Administration training within 6 months of employment.
Must have a valid Florida Driver's License and a safe driving record prior to employment and maintain it while employed, if transportation of students is a routine part of assigned duties.
Must submit to a Level 2 background check pursuant to Florida State Statute 435.04 and be found eligible by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
