About The Position

Assists in the execution of the safety component of an ESH Program, covering both technical and administrative aspects. This role involves preparing and implementing Safety and Health Management Plans, associated plans, procedures, and training programs. The ES&H Representative provides crucial input to various project groups, including Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracts, and Commissioning, to ensure safety and health requirements are embedded in project planning and execution. The position requires interpreting safety and health requirements, offering comprehensive assistance with plan preparation, risk assessment, and ESH program execution. Responsibilities include researching moderately complex issues and regulatory requirements, preparing documentation and reports, and supporting safety studies, risk assessments, program reviews, and audits. The role also involves participating in emergency response, incident investigation, and resolution, as well as interfacing and communicating with stakeholders to resolve concerns. Regular participation in meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders is expected. The ES&H Representative conducts ESH inspections and monitoring to identify hazards and risks, evaluate controls and corrective actions, and assess compliance with contract, regulatory, and project requirements.

Requirements

  • Specialized knowledge in a safety specialty such as Personal Protective Equipment, lockout/tagout, fall protection, excavation, or People Based Safety.
  • Knowledge of engineering disciplines such as civil, process safety, or mechanical engineering.
  • Knowledge of safety management, monitoring programs, principles, and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of safety and health laws and regulations and applicable agencies' permitting processes and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of engineering, construction, and subcontract work processes.
  • Proficiency with computer applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience with a degree, or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
