About The Position

The ERP Developer is responsible for the administration, support, and continuous improvement of the RentalMan (Wynne Systems) enterprise ERP platform following its implementation. The role spans system administration, SQL development, integrations, security administration, performance optimization, and production support across the RentalMan environment. Working hands-on across IBM I / AS400 systems, DB2 databases, and connected applications, the role partners with operations, accounting, dispatch, and IT leadership to keep daily rental operations running and to deliver enhancements through controlled, well-tested releases. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong ownership and a production-support mindset, comfortable optimizing delivery against both immediate operational needs and longer-term platform goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years supporting enterprise ERP systems, ideally RentalMan or a comparable platform.
  • Strong SQL development, optimization, and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience supporting IBM i / AS400 platforms and DB2 databases.
  • In-depth understanding of enterprise ERP workflows and standard business processes, including the capabilities and constraints of the application.
  • Experience with system, API, and web-service integrations and middleware (e.g., Boomi).
  • Familiarity with formal change management and controlled promotion paths.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong ownership and accountability with a production-support and process-improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with business teams.
  • Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of administrative and developer experience within an enterprise ERP application

Nice To Haves

  • RentalMan Administrator Certification or equivalent.
  • Experience in equipment rental, construction, oilfield services, or industrial operations.
  • RPG/RPGLE development or debugging experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and DB2 SQL.
  • Experience with Boomi, Salesforce integrations, and other API platforms.
  • Experience with reporting/BI and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or formal change management processes.
  • Experience supporting SaaS and hybrid-hosted ERP environments.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity controls and audit requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support the RentalMan ERP environment on a day-to-day basis.
  • Support daily ERP operations across rental transactions, asset management, purchasing, billing, dispatch, maintenance workflows, and financial integrations.
  • Manage the end-to-end enhancement and feature release process, from requirement definition and validation through technical implementation.
  • Coordinate software releases and controlled deployments through the proper promotion paths (DEV – QA/UA – SU – PTF – PROD).
  • Maintain production, staging, QA, and development environments.
  • Manage user security, permissions, and role-based access controls.
  • Partner with business units to gather requirements, align on technical designs, and resolve ERP-related operational problems.
  • Manage support requests and escalate administrative needs to Wynne Systems as necessary.
  • Develop end-user training documentation and deliver user training for new releases.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and support procedures.
  • Create test scripts and lead user acceptance testing.
  • Participate in after-hours support and critical incident response as required.
  • Support audit, compliance, cybersecurity, and disaster recovery initiatives.
  • Administer and monitor IBM i / AS400 systems supporting RentalMan operations.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL queries, reports, stored procedures, and data extracts.
  • Provide DB2 database support, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and indexing.
  • Support data analysis, reporting, and operational dashboards using SQL-based reporting tools (e.g., Informer).
  • Support API, web service, and third-party system integrations (e.g., Boomi middleware, ServiceCore, Salesforce).
  • Manage data imports, exports, and interface validation, and support data validation, reconciliation, and integrity processes.
  • Monitor system health, job queues, interfaces, backups, and scheduled processes.
  • Provide job scheduling and automation support.
  • Assist with ERP upgrades, patches, and quarterly release management.
  • Coordinate backups and disaster recovery.
  • Provide RPG/RPGLE or legacy IBM i application support (preferred).
