About The Position

Welcome to Animal Emergency Clinic and Intensive Care Facility in Shreveport, Louisiana! Our practice isn’t your typical ER- here, you'll be part of a tight-knit team who support one another and treat every patient like their own. Our welcoming lobby feels more like a cozy living room, and our exam rooms are thoughtfully designed for comfort and peace of mind. Our practice has the latest in digital and surgical technology to handle urgent, critical, and life-threatening conditions. Fully equipped, advanced surgical facilities, State-of-the-art digital radiography, Advanced ultrasound technology, Oxygen therapy for critical care, In-house bloodwork capabilities. The nature of Emergency and Critical Care medicine does require weekends and some overnight shifts. Our hospital provides care for the pets of Shreveport after hours during the week and around the clock from Saturday - Monday morning.

Requirements

  • 1+ year professional experience required
  • Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
  • Availability to work weekends and overnights is required
  • Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
  • Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
  • Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
  • Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
  • Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
  • Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
  • Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Nice To Haves

  • A Registered Veterinary Technician would be preferred, but is not required for this position
  • Previous ER / Urgent Care experience is preferred, but not required
  • The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and unwavering commitment to animal welfare in a dynamic veterinary setting.
