ER Tech (Emergency Room Technician) - Per Diem - Medford, OR
About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ER Tech to join our team on a per diem basis in Medford, OR. The ER Tech will assist physicians and registered nurses in providing direct patient care within the emergency department. This role involves obtaining and documenting vital signs, patient histories, and other clinical information. Responsibilities include performing EKGs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing. The ER Tech will also assist with splinting, wound care, dressing changes, orthopedic procedures, and other treatments, as well as preparing patients for examinations and procedures. Monitoring patient conditions and promptly reporting changes to nursing staff is crucial. Additionally, the role involves safely transporting patients, stocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and maintaining a safe treatment environment. The ER Tech will support emergency response efforts, including trauma activations and resuscitation events, and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
Requirements
- BLS (must be AHA)
- 1 year of ER Tech experience (6-12 months of ER experience if current EMT)
- EPIC experience
- Experience with ADLs
- Experience with phlebotomy
- Experience with abnormal/normal vital sign parameters
- Ability to report abnormal findings
- Experience assisting with set up of bedside procedures
- Experience with postmortem care
- Experience with restraints
- Experience with labeling specimens and transport
- Experience performing EKGs
- Experience with behavioral health de-escalation
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and registered nurses in providing direct patient care in the emergency department.

- Assist with splinting, wound care, dressing changes, orthopedic procedures, and other treatments.
- Prepare patients for examinations, diagnostic testing, and procedures.
- Monitor patient conditions and promptly report changes to the nursing staff.
- Transport patients safely throughout the facility.
- Stock supplies, clean equipment, and maintain a safe, organized treatment environment.
- Support emergency response efforts, including trauma activations and resuscitation events.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
