About The Position
ER Tech (Emergency Room Technician) - Per Diem - Medford, OR. This position involves assisting physicians and registered nurses in providing direct patient care in the emergency department. The role requires obtaining and documenting vital signs, patient histories, and other clinical information. Responsibilities include performing EKGs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing. The ER Tech will also assist with splinting, wound care, dressing changes, orthopedic procedures, and other treatments. Preparing patients for examinations, diagnostic testing, and procedures is a key duty. Monitoring patient conditions and promptly reporting changes to the nursing staff is essential. The role also involves transporting patients safely throughout the facility, stocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and maintaining a safe, organized treatment environment. Supporting emergency response efforts, including trauma activations and resuscitation events, is part of the job. Accurate documentation in the electronic medical record is required.
Requirements
- BLS (must be AHA)
- 1 year of ER Tech experience (6-12 months of ER experience if current EMT)
- EPIC experience
- Experience with ADLs
- Experience with phlebotomy
- Experience with abnormal/normal vital sign parameters
- Ability to report abnormal findings
- Experience assisting with set up of bedside procedures
- Experience with postmortem care
- Experience with restraints
- Experience with labeling specimens and transport
- Experience performing EKGs
- Experience with behavioral health de-escalation
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE
Responsibilities
