About The Position

BTIG seeks an Associate to support its Equity Research team in the Consumer Staples space. The Associate will assist a Senior Analyst covering Consumer Staples, with the potential to broaden coverage into other Staples subsectors. The role focuses on primary research, including financial analysis and due diligence on industry trends, company management, and strategies. The ideal candidate is self-starting, highly motivated, and hardworking.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in investment banking or equity research preferred.
• Strong work ethic and resourcefulness, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
• Ability to create and maintain financial models and forecasts.
• Demonstrated interest in the Consumer space.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Superior attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• MBA or master’s degree welcome, but not required.
• Series SIE, 63, 86, and 87 licenses preferred, but not required upon hiring.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial models for analysis, company updates, and client recommendations.
• Keep senior analysts informed about daily news flow.
• Conduct industry- and company-specific research through surveys, polling with physicians, discussions with Key Opinion Leaders, and other primary data collection methods for research reports.
• Assist in writing comprehensive reports on research ideas, investment themes, data analysis, industry or company breaking news, and initiations of coverage.
• As experience develops, maintain relationships with company management teams, industry contacts, internal sales and trading personnel, and institutional investors.
