About The Position

Wellington Management is seeking an Equity Research Associate to join its Global Industry Research Consumer Team. The associate will work closely with a senior Global Industry Analyst to support coverage of the consumer staples sector, drawing as appropriate on broader consumer-sector knowledge, including consumer discretionary, retail, brands, restaurants, and leisure. The role focuses on fundamental company and industry research, financial modeling, valuation, analysis of traditional and alternative data, due diligence, and contribution to long and short investment idea generation. The associate will maintain industry and comparative valuation models and build company financial models focused on revenue growth, margins, pricing, market share, channel mix, inventory trends, cash flow, and other consumer staples drivers. They will assess category growth, competitive positioning, brand strength, consumer demand, pricing power, distribution strategy, and execution risks. The role also involves analyzing company results and a wide range of industry, consumer, channel, operational, and alternative datasets; conducting ongoing due diligence across global consumer staples; and completing complex analytical projects using alternative data, AI, and other tools under tight time constraints. The successful candidate will stay current on company, industry, macroeconomic, and consumer developments and communicate investment views clearly in writing and verbally. Wellington describes its compensation as including salary, variable compensation, and benefits; eligible employees may also receive discretionary corporate bonuses and/or incentives. The role is based in Boston. Employees work from the office four days a week, with flexibility to work remotely one day a week.
