About The Position

The Equity & Culture Associate focuses on providing administrative and operational support to advance equity-centered initiatives, programs, and processes across the organization. This role helps ensure the effective implementation of projects that strengthen organizational culture, transparency, and consistency. This position supports the execution of key Equity & Culture initiatives, including internal process development, survey administration, learning and development systems, and organization-wide events such as the all-staff retreat and intern/fellowship programming. The Associate also assists with maintaining documentation, supporting labor relations processes, and coordinating logistics for equity-focused programs and milestones. The role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities both independently and collaboratively while maintaining confidentiality. A commitment to equity and inclusion is essential, demonstrated through supporting transparent, consistent processes and contributing to initiatives that promote fairness, access, and an inclusive workplace culture. The goal of this role is to enhance the effectiveness and impact of the Equity & Culture function by ensuring seamless operations and thoughtful execution of key initiatives, while also absorbing critical administrative and operational responsibilities to increase team capacity. By creating this additional capacity, the role enables greater focus on strategic priorities, data-driven decision-making, and progress toward key measurement and organizational goals. Through this work, the position helps foster a more equitable, inclusive, and values-aligned organizational environment.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of professional experience in an administrative, operations, human resources, or equity and culture–related role
  • Demonstrated interest in or commitment to equity, inclusion, and fostering inclusive workplace cultures
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, inclusive, and professional materials
  • Ability to synthesize complex, incomplete, or unstructured information into clear, organized, and actionable outputs, such as presentations, standard operating procedures, and visual materials (e.g., flyers)
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and sound judgment
  • Experience supporting projects, programs, or events from planning through execution
  • Comfort with administrative and operational tasks, including scheduling, documentation, and process coordination
  • Ability to problem-solve, ask clarifying questions, and adapt to evolving priorities and workflows
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) and comfort learning new systems and tools
  • Strong proficiency in tools such as Canva, Google Slides, and Constant Contact to design and produce polished newsletters, flyers, and presentations for internal and external audiences
  • Experience maintaining organized file systems and shared documentation repositories
  • Ability to apply an equity-centered and inclusive lens to administrative processes, communications, and program support
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred, but not required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting equity, inclusion, or culture-focused initiatives in a workplace setting
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and how to administer and optimize them
  • Experience with survey tools (e.g., CultureAmp, SurveyMonkey, Google Forms) and basic data analysis and interpretation
  • Experience supporting intern or fellowship programs with respect to program coordination and development
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com)
  • Experience in planning and executing employee engagement or wellness initiatives
  • Comfort facilitating or supporting group sessions, trainings, or workshops.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of Equity & Culture processes, tools, and resources by conducting internal research and audits, gathering and analyzing staff feedback, drafting and refining SOPs and guidance materials, and partnering with cross-functional teams to pilot, iterate, and scale practices that strengthen organizational transparency, consistency, and inclusion
  • Provide administrative and operational support for Equity & Culture initiatives, ensuring effective coordination and execution of projects and programs
  • Assist in planning and executing organization-wide culture and engagement initiatives, including the annual all-staff retreat, heritage month programming, wellness initiatives, and other staff-facing events
  • Create, distribute and track staff surveys, and assist in organizing results to inform culture and engagement strategies
  • Contribute to the development of internal Equity & Culture materials and resources (e.g., toolkits, guides, presentations) that support staff understanding and application of organizational values
  • Assist in maintaining and updating Equity & Culture–related content on internal platforms (e.g., intranet pages, shared resources), ensuring materials are current, accessible, and user-friendly
  • Coordinate logistics for Equity & Culture programming, including scheduling, calendar management, and cross-functional communication with internal stakeholders
  • Support internal communications efforts related to Equity & Culture initiatives, including drafting and designing newsletters, announcements, and engagement materials
  • Apply an equity-centered lens to all communications and materials, ensuring language, visuals, and content are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with organizational values
  • Track participation and engagement across Equity & Culture programs and initiatives, and assist in maintaining organized records to support reporting and evaluation efforts
  • Support the rollout of Equity & Culture–related initiatives by coordinating timelines, materials, and stakeholder communication
  • Attend and support cross-departmental meetings to help advance Equity & Culture priorities and ensure alignment across teams
  • Organize and maintain Equity & Culture project plans, timelines, and tracking tools to support team coordination and accountability
  • Provide general administrative support to enhance the overall effectiveness and impact of the Equity & Culture function, to include drafting slide presentations and other resources for staff and leadership
