About The Position

The Equipment Tech Lead is responsible for safely cleaning and disinfecting medical equipment and maintaining appropriate par levels for each department and will provide some work direction to custodial staff. The role involves working the daily shift as an Equipment Technician, developing working schedules for staff, helping coordinate technicians’ activities, and ensuring consistent communication among Technicians. The lead is expected to strive to reduce idle equipment, improve cleanliness, and improve order response time. They will also communicate with runners and stakeholders, perform spot checks, and escalate clinical concerns to the Supervisor. Additionally, the role includes training new employees, performing repetitive tasks, maintaining a clean work area, and adhering to all protocols and procedures. The position requires the ability to walk and/or stand for long periods, answer phone calls and emails, appropriately clean and disinfect medical equipment, read par sheets, and operate a pushcart for transporting equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma / GED required
  • Completed all safety and task training certification
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
  • Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Responsibilities

  • Work the daily shift as an Equipment Technician

  • Appropriately clean and disinfect medical equipment using the approved disinfectant
  • Able to read par sheets and inventory levels
  • Adhere to hospital policies and infection control processes
  • Obtain supplies via Stock Acquisition Process
  • Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
  • Operate pushcart for transporting equipment
  • Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
  • Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • Stop at risk behavior of others and self
  • Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
