About The Position

This role involves expert-level corrective and preventive maintenance for a variety of industrial assets. Responsibilities include diagnosing root causes, adjusting and calibrating control instruments, repairing/replacing components, and verifying performance through electrical and mechanical testing. The technician will also disassemble equipment, inspect for wear, recondition machine tools, source parts, and evaluate alternatives for reliability and cost improvements. The position requires independent execution of maintenance work to industry standards, optimization of PM strategies in partnership with the Planner/Scheduler, and operation of shop equipment. A key aspect of the role is championing 5S and housekeeping, leading continuous improvement initiatives, mentoring lower-level technicians, and providing technical leadership. Troubleshooting complex control systems, leveraging predictive maintenance technologies, and maintaining accurate records are also crucial. The role emphasizes on-the-job learning and rigorous safety practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Associate degree (technical) and 5+ years in a relevant industry, or 7+ years of directly related industry experience.
  • Hands-on experience with predictive technologies, precision alignment, and general process-equipment maintenance.
  • Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and controls; able to analyze issues, develop options, and complete quality repairs.
  • Proficiency with basic and specialized hand/tools.
  • Background in vibration analysis or laser interferometer operations, precision alignments, and upkeep of process equipment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Own expert-level corrective and preventive maintenance for a variety of industrial assets—diagnose root causes, adjust and calibrate control instruments, repair/replace components, and verify performance through electrical and mechanical testing.
  • Disassemble equipment to access defective parts; inspect for wear or imperfections; recondition machine tools as needed.
  • Source parts and supplies; evaluate alternatives to drive reliability and cost improvements.
  • Independently execute maintenance work to industry standards while partnering with the Planner/Scheduler to optimize PM strategies.
  • Set up and operate shop equipment (lathe, drill press, grinder, other metalworking tools); perform welding when required.
  • Champion 5S and housekeeping; lead and participate in CI initiatives that deliver process, results, and cost savings.
  • Mentor lower-level technicians and provide technical leadership on projects and training activities.
  • Troubleshoot complex control systems, resolving software, hardware, and configuration issues.
  • Leverage predictive maintenance technologies to capture and trend equipment performance data; provide recommendations based on insights.
  • Maintain accurate records, review CMMS history, and analyze data for reliability actions.
  • Engage in on-the-job learning and self-study to continue growing your expertise.
  • Practice rigorous safety—follow all policies, procedures, and instructions with strong situational awareness.
