About The Position

This position oversees the maintenance, operation, and repair of the motor fleet. The role involves conducting training programs on the maintenance, proper usage, and adherence to safety standards for all vehicles, equipment, and tools. The supervisor will inspect or arrange for the inspection of all fleet vehicles and heavy equipment. Responsibilities also include maintaining inventory through planning and purchasing, and responding to work requests in a timely manner within a Total Maintenance System (TMS). The position may require supervising and directing the work of inmates.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of repair, maintenance techniques, and shop management.
  • Skill in use of all related hand and power tools and equipment to service and maintain gasoline and diesel vehicles/equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a variety of logs and records.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment problems and make repairs.
  • Ability to interpret all related manuals.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in automotive repair dealing with gasoline/diesel powered equipment repair.
  • Skills in the operation of computerized diagnostics/techniques and power tools.
  • Commercial Driver’s License.
  • Experience utilizing TMS System.
  • Experience providing training/guidance to others.
