About The Position
Ace Carting, a Waste Connections company, is hiring an Equipment Operator for its Fort Ann Transfer Station. The role contributes to the safe and efficient operation of the transfer station. The operator backs into the building to hook up to empty trailers, unhooks the truck, and operates an excavator to move solid waste. The operator also maintains an organized work area, inspects equipment, communicates with the team, follows safety procedures, and supports operational needs. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Pay is $27 per hour, paid weekly.
Requirements
- Strong safety mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Back into the building to hook up to empty trailers and unhook the truck.
- Operate an excavator to move solid waste at the transfer station.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and promptly report issues.
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operation.
- Follow safety procedures and operational protocols.
- Support team needs and step in wherever needed to keep operations moving.
