About The Position

The Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating various types of equipment, including roll-off/hook trucks, wheel loaders, and forklifts. This role involves working in industrial waste and soil amendment environments, performing disposal and recycling tasks at customer facilities, landfills, recycling facilities, or land sites. Safety is a primary focus, requiring risk assessment, adherence to authorized activities, and proper use of PPE. The position also includes basic manual labor, equipment maintenance, and maintaining communication with supervisors and team members. The role requires the ability to pass a background check and drug test, and maintain a clean driving record.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent.
  • Prior experience with heavy equipment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to use personal protective equipment in compliance with OSHA exposure control program.
  • Ability to establish and effective relationships with management staff, other employees, and the general public.
  • Ability to use accuracy in the identification and reporting of data.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with hook/roll-off trucks and wheel loaders.
  • CDL Class A or B.

Responsibilities

  • Operation of equipment combinations (Roll Off/Hook Truck, Wheel Loader, Forklift).
  • Operation of equipment in industrial waste, soil amendments and other non-hazardous solids on customer facilities, designated landfills, recycling facilities, or land sites for disposal, recycling, or beneficial use.
  • Practice and promote safety; including but not limited to, assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate PPE.
  • Able to do some manual labor and lift 50 lbs.
  • Basic housekeeping of work area.
  • Basic care and maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintain communication with supervisors and team members.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment.
  • Immediately reports any unsafe situations to the Manager before attempting service.
  • Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by the Manager.
  • Notify Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, cleaning and other duties as assigned by the Company.
