About The Position

The Equipment Operator runs dozers, loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and other large equipment used for paving or for moving, grading, and compacting earth, sand, gravel, stone, and asphalt materials. The role includes routine daily equipment inspections and keeping equipment clean and safe. Operators load trucks and bins with aggregate materials and move materials between locations while maintaining proper quantities for loading. They follow safety, compliance, and environmental requirements and communicate, improve, and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies across work environments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and write.
• Excellent driving skills.
• Adhere to safety protocols and properly use approved personal protective equipment, including respirators when required.
• Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to load trucks, feed bins with aggregate materials, and maintain proper quantities of material for loading.
• Keep equipment clean and orderly.
• Perform daily equipment inspections to ensure safe operation.
• Follow safety, compliance, and environmental requirements at all times.
• Load materials into bins, crushers, trucks, or plants.
• Move earth and other materials from one location to another.
• Perform visual and safety inspections of equipment.
• Maintain equipment appearance, tire pressure, and fluid levels, and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Complete necessary paperwork and assist with other required duties.
• Communicate, improve, and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies; promote a culture of safety.
