About The Position
Xylem Tree Care is hiring an Equipment Operator across Raleigh, NC for our Residential/Commercial Crew. The Equipment Operator effectively and safely operates heavy equipment of various types to remove branches and tree material. CDL is Required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or ability to attain one within 90 days of hire.
- Experience operating heavy equipment within the tree care industry, utility line clearance, and/or vegetation management industry.
- Must possess and maintain a Valid driver’s license.
- Must meet I-9 requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of basic mechanical repair is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Always follow and help enforce safe practices and rules.
- Operate equipment, in a safe, efficient, and effective manner while minimizing all risks to job site personnel, the public, and property.
- Assist in preparing equipment and materials for each day’s work at the Foreperson’s direction.
- Check equipment daily for needed fuel or fluids and inspect for safety before use.
- Assist other crew members in all aspects of daily activities and take a leadership role when required.
- Assist with the clean up and disposal of all debris.
- Set up barriers, warning signs, flags, markers, etc. to protect employees and the public.
- Keep informed on new equipment, specifications, standard practices, operating procedures, and customer and company employee relations policies and practices.
- Maintain above-standard customer relations.
- Accident Reporting.
