About The Position

Centuri is hiring an experienced Equipment Operator to work on a crew performing utility and energy infrastructure work. After paid training, the operator safely uses equipment to move earth, tools, and materials to and from job sites. The role reports to a Foreman, and crew members are expected to assist with general labor as needed. Work takes place outdoors, potentially in extreme weather, and within the red zone of heavy equipment. The position requires alertness, safe work practices, and quick, accurate hand-eye coordination.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• At least 1 year of experience safely operating equipment close to workers and underground utilities.
• Fluency in English, as worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English.
• Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable-suspicion drug screens.
• Provide valid U.S. work authorization documents for E-Verify.
• Satisfactory pre-employment background check results.
• Pass a pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test and hold or obtain a DOT medical card.
• Join and maintain Union membership.
• Ability to perform prolonged and repeated lifting, including overhead lifting up to 50 pounds; standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching; and crawling.
• Ability to work safely in the red zone of heavy equipment, maintaining quick and accurate hand-eye coordination and constant alertness.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment, including skid steers, backhoes, trenchers, pavers, dozers, milling saws, road graders, hydro-excavators, and track hoes.
• Load and unload equipment and materials.
• Conduct daily pre-shift vehicle and equipment inspections.
• Perform regular maintenance and cleaning on assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain all industry-required Operator Qualifications.
• Assist with general labor as needed and perform other tasks requested by leadership.
